DOHA (AA) – Egyptian President Abdel-Fattah al-Sisi arrived in the western Saudi city of Jeddah late on Sunday at the start of a two-day visit to the oil-rich kingdom. He was welcomed at airport by Second Deputy Premier Prince Muqrin bin Abdel-Aziz and Foreign Minister Saud al-Faisal, the official Saudi news agency said. Al-Sisi is expected to meet during his visit with Saudi King Abdullah bin Abdel-Aziz.
Talks are expected to focus on the situation in the Gaza Strip and a Saudi proposal for an international conference to support the Egyptian economy, a source at the Egyptian presidency told Anadolu Agency.
The source added that the talks will also dwell on the situation in Libya and Syria as well as coordination between Egypt and Saudi Arabia on fighting terrorism.
This is al-Sisi's first visit to kingdom since his election in June.
