Nasdaq OMX Group and Borsa Istanbul (BIST) may finalize strategic cooperation agreement in December, said Ibrahim Turhan, BIST's chairman and CEO. Speaking to the Anadolu Agency on the sidelines of a panel discussion on "Istanbul: Regional Hub, Global Actor", hosted by Borsa Istanbul in Washington on October 11, Turhan said the details of the final agreement as a result of ongoing negotiations which were initiated by a pre-agreement on July, would be clarified by November. Turhan said the scope of the agreement would be very wide, going beyond technological cooperation. "By this cooperation Borsa Istanbul will benefit Nasdaq OMX Group's international finance network. In addition Nasdaq OMX Group will support us in strengthening our institutional image and brand."
