GENEVA (AA) - The United Nations has honored the 11 UN staff killed during the Israeli attack on Gaza. A ceremony held Thursday in front of the UN office in Geneva heard Executive Secretary Ian Richards call for accountability for the deaths.
"We need to have a full investigation for what has been happening," he said.
The names of the UN victims were read out and a minute’s silence observed while flags flew at half-mast.
More than 1,800 Palestinians were killed and schools, hospitals, mosques and media offices were hit by air and artillery strikes during the four-week Gaza offensive.
