AVRUPA AJANSI (AVA) Exclusive — The Global Journalist Council (GJC), under its United Kingdom representation, has launched an intensive visit program in London aimed at strengthening public diplomacy and media cooperation. Council President Mehmet Ali Dim conducted a series of official meetings hosted by UK Representative Vatan Öz.

The first stop of the visit was the Turkish Embassy in London. President Dim met with Ambassador Osman Koray Ertaş to discuss ways to strengthen cultural and media relations between the two countries. The Council presented the Ambassador with a commemorative plaque and the Global Media magazine.

Parliament and House of Lords Meetings
The visit continued with meetings with Nesil Çalışkan, the first Turkish-origin Member of the UK Parliament, and Baroness Meral Ece of the House of Lords. Discussions focused on press freedom, international journalism standards, and media ethics.

Foreign Press Association (FPA) Visit
The Global Journalist Council held a meeting at The Royal Over-Seas League (ROSL) in London with Vasil Hristov, President of the Foreign Press Association (FPA), and its Director General Deborah Bonetti. The meeting, led by UK Representative Vatan Öz, focused on the future of journalism, international media relations, and potential areas of collaboration. End of Day: Private Dinner

On the second day of the program, the GJC delegation will hold meetings with the London Consulate, the TRNC London Embassy, and the British-Turkish press. The events aim to enhance cooperation in journalism and strengthen dialogue between the two countries.
