Croatia begins implementing visa requirements on Turkish citizens as of Monday. The visa decision came within the framework of harmonizing to EU due to Croatia's full accession into the EU on July 1. The visa implementation is expected to influence the Croatian economy as thousands of Turkish citizens travel to the Croatia mainly to the Croatian holiday destination Dubrovnik every year. Burak Ozugergin, Turkey's Ambassador in Zagreb, stated that they were saddened with the change in visa implementation although it occurred due to a necessity of the EU.
