WATFORD, UK/AVRUPA TIMES— Sam Burke won the Turkish Airlines World Golf Cup tournament held today at The Grove Hotel Golf Club near Watford, finishing at the top of the leaderboard with 40 points. At the awards ceremony, Mehmet Gürulkan, General Manager of Turkish Airlines London, presented the prizes to the golfers who finished in the top positions and thanked all participants for taking part in the tournament.
Burke secured first place ahead of Louis Jean, who finished runner-up with 39 points, while Tom Cox took third place with 38 points.
In the Best Gross Score category, Louis Jean recorded a score of 72 (E).
The tournament also featured the Nearest to the Pin competitions. Theresa Feeney won the Ladies’ Nearest to the Pin award, while Gareth Llewellyr was the Men’s Nearest to the Pin winner.

Organisers congratulated all the prize winners and thanked everyone who took part in the Turkish Airlines World Golf Cup, wishing participants a safe journey home.

Gürulkan reminded attendees that five million of Europe’s 10 million golfers live in the UK, adding that Türkiye is one of the most important markets for golf tourism from the UK.
Gürulkan said the Turkish Airlines World Golf Cup was established in 2013 by Türkiye’s national flag carrier as part of its commitment to sport and golf, which also includes support for the Turkish Airlines Open on the European Tour and the Turkish Airlines Challenge Tour.
He added that the Turkish Airlines World Golf Cup, played on world-class golf courses, has become one of the most popular events on the golfing calendar.
The tournament was also attended by former England striker Les Ferdinand, who took part as a golfer.

The event also featured a strong presence from leading Turkish brands. Hafız Mustafa 1864, Karaca Home and Atelier Rebul each had stands at the golf course, where they presented gifts to golfers participating in the tournament.
