Parks make cleaner sweep in Enfield

The additional litter collection arrangements will take place in Enfield's eight Green Flag parks which are Bush Hill, Town, Trent, Forty Hall, Pymmes, Jubilee, Grovelands and Oakwood Park. Parks will see extra workers cleaning up during the summer season, with litter bins being emptied later in the day to prevent litter being spread. Hotspots will also be visited, including play areas which will have extra visits at evenings and weekends. Cllr Chris Bond, Enfield Council's Cabinet Member for Environment said "We are determined to ensure that our parks meet exacting standards of cleanliness, and are a pleasure for all visitors. "All our parks are very popular, especially our Green Flag parks, however the downside to this is especially during the summer months this can attract additional litter.

"We really want people to respect our parks and make sure they put all their litter in the bin where it belongs, but just to ensure things are kept first rate we have drafted in extra staff to sweep and empty bins to make sure that our parks remain clean and green as they should be."
