Jersey Squash to enter European Championships

The island's Director of Squash, Nick Taylor, has told ITV News the decision has been triggered by a lack of NatWest Island Games opportunities.Jersey Squash have confirmed they will take part in the European Team Championships for the first time ever this year. the event will take place in Ljubljana, Slovenia in April.

he said, "The reason we've entered is because we're not part of the Island Games and it's looking like we're not going to be for a number of years. We need an event for our top players to compete in and the European Championships fits the bill perfectly."Jersey could face the likes of Portugal, Gibraltar, Russia or Turkey in Division 3. The eventual winners of the event will be promoted to Division 2. The Caesareans' team is as follows: Men: Nick Taylor, Scott Gautier, Ian Furness and Mark Le Roux Women: Sarah Taylor, Kate Cadigan and Beth Garton
