First Turkish Theatre Play at Wimbledon

The theatre play "Seher and Ali", which continues on its way with the slogan "Because fairy tales know no boundaries", will meet the audience at Wimbledon Rutherford Theatre on 16 March 16:00. The play, which will be staged for the first time at Wimbledon Rutherford Theatre, is waiting for all theatre lovers aged 16 and over."Seher and Ali", which played to sold-out houses at the Tower Theatre last season and in November, will now be staged for the first time in Wimbledon with the main sponsorship of Efes Premium restaurant and the support of Babylon restaurant, Lapiola Wimbledon restaurant, Kingston Food Centre and Robin Food online shopping platform. "Seher and Ali" brings together an impressive story about the efforts of Seher and Ali, who escaped from the pavilion, to build a new life in a hotel room for 70 minutes. This play is also the first Turkish theatre to be staged in Wimbledon.

This deep story written by Samil Yilmaz will leave the audience breathless. Produced by Mavi Productions, "Seher and Ali" offers an in-depth look at the ups and downs of arabesque emotions, gender roles and relationships. Going beyond a love story, the play reveals the tragicomic experiences of people oppressed, marginalised and invisible by the power and the system through the story of Seher and Ali.

In the play, Eda Çatalçam both directs and plays the role of Seher, and the role of Ali is played by Fatih Dönmez, who has signed many theatre and television projects in Turkey and won the "Best Actor" award at the "Feel The Reel" Film Festival in Scotland with the film "Fısıltılar" (Whispers) last year. Continuing their 22-year theatre journey in London, Eda Çatalçam and Fatih Dönmez will stage "Seher and Ali" in Turkish with English subtitles in Wimbledon. Seher and Ali, which is the first Turkish theatre to be staged in Wimbledon, seems to drag you theatre lovers into many emotional states with its timeless and spaceless, universal story belonging to every period.

The play, which will be staged on 16 March at Wimbledon Rutherford Theatre at 16:00, will be performed in Turkish for an audience aged 16 and over, and the English translation will be followed with a caption.
