TUBITAK to award e-publishing on undergraduate textbooks

Scientific and Technological Research Council of Turkey (TUBITAK) has made a second call with handsome prize money for its e-publishing project, aimed at quenching the shortage of academic e-books in the Turkish language for undergraduate classes tutored in Turkey.

TUBITAK says it will offer subsidies for authorship of high-quality academic e-books. The research agency's online statement says it has launched the project to provide undergraduate students with free-of-charge online academic material enriched with modern tools, with a view to increasing the quality of undergraduate education in the country.

The upper limit of academic e-book subsidies sits as 120,000TL ($58.000), excluding copyright. Also the authors of the e-books deemed worthy for support will be awarded up to 50,000TL ($24,000) for copyright.

Applications can be submitted till March 14, 2014.
