Shaykh Muhammad Umar bin Ramadhan, Chairman of the Ramadhan Foundation comments

The tragic scenes in Burma where thousands of Rohingya Muslims are being killed or displaced are shocking and a crime against humanity. The Ramadhan Foundation strongly condemns the Burmese Government for this oppression, we also condemn Aung San Su Ki in the strongest term for her inability to stand up for human rights which she often lectures us on. Then there is the action of the Bangladeshi Government, which has being sending refugees fleeing violence back into the hands of the Burmese oppressors. Bangladesh must allow all refugees access and also lift the ban on aid agencies. with each passing day more and more Rohingya people are dying and are desperately in need of help. We urge the Sheikh Hasina Government to take immediate action to help these people. So i hope this Eid our first thoughts are to the suffering people in Burma and across the world wherever they may be and whoever they are."
