Muslim Aid Launches Emergency Appeal for Gaza

The aerial bombardment has taken the lives of civilians including women and children. The conflict has placed enormous pressure on the Strip’s health infrastructure which is already under severe shortage of medical equipment and drugs to treat the sick and wounded. Gaza hospitals and clinics have been in need of medicines even before the start of the recent hostilities. There is a chronic need for medical aid.

A spokesperson for the Charity said: “For the last four years, the people of Gaza have been living in a state of conflict, lacking the freedom of movement and basic necessities of food, clean water, shelter and healthcare. The present escalation places innocent civilians in much greater risk of losing lives. Medical aid is urgently required as hospitals struggle to meet the surge in emergency care. Muslim Aid is launching an urgent Emergency Appeal with a target of £1 million to provide much needed medical supplies. We urge our donors to help the people of Gaza in their need. ”

Muslim Aid has been delivering humanitarian and developmental assistance in Gaza for over a decade through its partners and has provided medical equipment and medicines for hospital and outpatient treatment and care.
