Congress of the International Commission of Agricultural and Biosystems Engineering cancelled due to pressure from the Greek Cypriot Administration
The Chamber of Agricultural Engineers has stated that the XIX. World Congress of the International Commission of Agricultural and Biosystems Engineering (CIGR), which was scheduled to be held in the TRNC on the 22-25 April, has been cancelled as a result of pressure from the Greek Cypriot Administration.
According to a statement from the Chamber, the General Council of the CIGR agreed in 2012, when the conference was held in Spain, that the 2018 XIX. World Congress would be held in Girne under the theme of “Sustainable Living for Children”. It stated that, as a result of intense initiatives from the Greek Cypriot administration designed to exert pressure to move the Congress, it has been transferred to Antalya.
