To make sure your voice is heard, there are three key things to know – including important changes about voter ID (identification). Register to vote. Firstly, if you haven't already registered to vote, now is the time to do so. Registering is quick, easy, and free. You can complete the process conveniently online through the GOV.UK website. Here in Islington, thousands of our residents are already registered to vote - if you’re not registered yet, you can easily join them today. The deadline for registering to vote in the upcoming elections is fast approaching. Make sure your voice counts by registering before midnight on Tuesday, 16 April.
Do you have your valid photo ID to vote?
It's important to be aware of the new requirement to present valid photo ID at the polling station when you cast your vote. This is a major change, and we want to ensure that every voter is prepared. Don't wait until Election Day to check whether you have the necessary ID. Take a moment to check that your identification meets the requirements.
