Rescuers free nine workers trapped in Turkish coal mine

The miners, who were stranded 20 meters underground after part of the mine collapsed, have been carried to hospital and are in a stable condition, Zonguldak Governor Ali Kaban told The Anadolu Agency. The mining accident occurred at 03:00 a.m. local time, but it was reported to police only after noon by the father of a trapped miner. The reasons for the collapse have yet to be determined. Governor Kaban added that a multi-faceted investigation would soon begin at the mining site.
