Kazakhstan and Russia to build a plant for the production of coronavirus vaccines

President of Kazakhstan Kassym-Jomart Tokayev agreed with Russian leader Vladimir Putin to build a plant for the production of Russian vaccines. The government is in talks to attract investment in this project, according to the official website of Akorda.

"The big task facing the government is to introduce a domestic vaccine into production without any obstacles. It is necessary to simplify the procedure for temporary registration and complete the construction of a plant for the production of vaccines. I have agreed with President of Russia to build a Russian plant for the production of vaccines", - said Kassym-Jomart Tokayev at a meeting on measures to counter the spread of the coronavirus epidemic.
The President stressed the importance of continuing work in areas of ensuring biological safety. And instructed to submit a draft law on biological safety to the deputies before the end of the work of the Parliament at this session.
 
Kassym-Jomart Tokayev once again stressed that any difficulties and crises open up new opportunities. For example, two domestic vaccines are currently undergoing clinical trials.
