To help local people to go to the events, residents are invited to apply for tickets to one of the exciting music events taking part in the north area of the Park that sits in Hackney, which begin at the end of this month.
Events begin with Hard Rock Calling music festival on 29 and 30 June with the chance to see top acts including Kasabian, Paul Weller, Bruce Springsteen and the E-Street Band, and Alabama Shakes. Next up is The Summer Stampede with Mumford and Sons headlining on 6 July.
Yahoo! Wireless Festival brings Justin Timberlake and Jay Z to the stage from 12 to 14 July, and the Electric Daisy Carnival promises an electronic music extravaganza on 20 July.
Jules Pipe, Mayor of Hackney, said: "We're pleased to be able to offer hundreds of our residents the chance to enjoy international music events for free in an area of Queen Elizabeth Olympic Park that sits in our borough. We will also be offering free entry to Open East Festival and Sainsbury's Anniversary Games through specific resident and community groups."
Dennis Hone, Chief Executive, London Legacy Development Corporation, said: “This summer we will welcome people in to the Park for a fantastic series of events to celebrate the anniversary of the Games and the start of the phased opening of the Park. We want to make sure local people have an opportunity to go to these amazing events, we have been working in partnership with Live Nation and Hackney Council to enable access to tickets for these concerts and also a limited number of free tickets.”

How to apply for tickets
Residents can apply for one pair of tickets to one event.
Send an email to [email protected] including the name and date of the event you would like to attend in the subject line.
Please include your full postcode to prove you are a Hackney resident.
Children aged 15 or under must be accompanied by an adult. Electric Daisy Carnival requires anyone under 18 to be accompanied by an adult.
Closing date is Sunday 23 June.
Winners will be chosen at random.
The Council's decision is final.
Winners will be notified by email by Wednesday 26 June.
Entry will only be allowed with proof of address, such as a Council Tax bill.
