Taliban in Afghanistan demand 'hostage' negotiation

The Taliban is demanding the release of some Taliban members in exchange for the release of 11 hostages, including 8 Turks, kidnapped in Afghanistan. This is the first concrete demand from the Taliban regarding the hostages abducted in the city of Logar in Afghanistan. They have asked for the release of some Taliban members held under the custody of the Kabul regime. Logar City Council President Abdulwali Wakil said that the Taliban had wanted an exchange when they spoke with them about the condition of the kidnapped foreigners. Deputy Governor of Logar  Mohammad Hashim Feyzi also said that no clear conclusion had been reached in ongoing negotiations with the Taliban regarding the release of the abducted foreigners.

8 Turkish engineers and 3 other persons working for the MT Construction company were captured by the Taliban three days ago when an MI-8 type helicopter owned by the Horasan Logistics company made an emergency landing due to bad weather in the Deremengel region connected to the Azre township of Logar.
