US attorney orders new autopsy on Missouri teen Michael Brown

U.S. Attorney General Eric Holder on Sunday instructed the Justice Department to perform another autopsy on Michael Brown, the unarmed teen shot dead by local police in Ferguson, Missouri, last week. Amid fierce clashes between the security forces and the black community in St. Louis suburb Ferguson, Brown's body was examined last week. However, the report did not include the number of bullets that hit the 18-years old black teen's body. "At the request of the Brown family, Attorney General Holder has instructed Justice Department officials to arrange for an additional autopsy to be performed by a federal medical examiner," Justice Department spokesman Brian Fallon said in a statement Sunday. Fallon said that the examination would take place as soon as possible, adding: "Even after it is complete, Justice Department officials still plan to take the state-performed autopsy into account in the course of their investigation." Meanwhile, clashes continued in Ferguson on Saturday night despite a curfew declared. Highway Patrol, undertaking security of Ferguson from local police, cracked down on protesters who refused obey the curfew with tear gas and rubber bullets.

A SWAT team stepped into the protests to detain people who broke the curfew, with a group of protesters shouting slogans saying "No justice, no peace."

SWAT forces detained seven people and a man was wounded on Florissant Street at Ferguson town center during the night, as the tension in the city has not decreased despite U.S. President Barack Obama's call for calm and Attorney General Holder's assurance for justice.

Protesters have rallied for nearly a week following the death of Michael Brown on Saturday, which ignited racial tensions in the predominantly black city.
