Turkey's Erdogan attacks 'pro-Israeli' headline

MALATYA, Turkey (AA) - Turkey's Prime Minister Recep Tayyip Erdogan has attacked the country’s largest non-state media group for being 'pro-Israeli.' Erdogan, who is standing in the presidential election Sunday, criticized the Radikal newspaper, owned by the Dogan Media Group, for the headline "Israel under Attack" at a rally on Thursday in the eastern city of Malatya.
He told the crowd: "Why does daily Radikal say ‘Israel under Attack’? Dogan Group, was it Israel under attack or Gaza? Count how many people from Israel were killed. Who sent phosphorous bombs and dropped 500 to 600 tons of bombs on Gaza? Who entered Gaza with guns and tanks?”
Erdogan said that Israel killed 10 journalists in Gaza while the Western media remained silent.
Palestinian officials said Monday that 10 journalists were killed and 38 injured during the four-week Gaza offensive.
More than 1,800 Palestinians were killed and schools, hospitals, mosques and media offices were hit by air and artillery strikes. The Anadolu Agency’s office in Gaza City was hit twice.
