Russia has become the biggest natural gas supplier of Turkey, after importing more than half of its 45 billion cubic meters from Gazprom. Gazprom sold 162.7 billion cubic meters of natural gas to Europe last year, out of which 26.6 billion cubic meters, 16 percent, was sold to Turkey. Turkey continues to meet its natural gas needs through gas contracts with Iran, Russia, Azerbaijan, Algeria and Nigeria. According to Gazprom, Turkey's volumes of natural gas imports are the following:
