There were also celebrations as two North Cyprus specialist tour operators triumphed at the prestigious British Travel Awards.
Visitors arriving at the World Travel Market were greeted by stunning visuals of North Cyprus; The North Cyprus Tourism Centre kicked off its latest outdoor advertising campaign with a takeover of Custom House station, home of the ExCel exhibition centre. There were 53 adverts in total. These included the 38 metre-long banner which extended the length of the platform, as well as numerous posters on the platform itself, and images which ran along the walkway leading from the station to the venue's main west entrance.
Two exhibitors on the North Cyprus stand, specialist tour operators Direct Traveller and The Discovery Collection, triumphed at the British Travel Awards a couple of days prior: Direct Traveller was named Best Small Tour Operator to East & Southeast Europe, whilst The Discovery Collection scooped Best Small Special Interest Tour Operator.
World Travel Market is the UK’s largest annual business-to-business travel event, and attracts over 45,000 visitors from over 180 countries. The event ran from 5-8 November.
