The exhibition will be available to visit until 15th December 2023.Serdar Karagöz, the Director General of Anadolu Agency, will be hosting the opening evening. The
works of the 29 award-winning photographers from this year's ninth edition of the competition will be displayed. In addition, the exhibition will feature photographs from previous years of the competition that focused on Palestine. Visitors to the exhibition will have the opportunity to explore photographs depicting global events from the Ukraine-Russia war to events in Palestine, from the oppression under the Taliban regime to child trafficking in Nigeria, from lithium-induced environmental changes to natural life studies in Thailand, and more.
The competition, supported by Nikon, the Turkish Cooperation and Coordination Agency (TİKA), and Turkish Airlines, received over 21,000 photo submissions in the categories of news, sports, environment, portrait, and daily life this year. A total of 29 photographers received awards in 10 categories. The international jury awarded the "Photograph of the Year" for 2023 to Sergey Kozlov, a photographer from the European Pressphoto Agency (EPA), for his work titled "Ukraine-Russia War." A selection of award-winning photographs will be on display in London with the support of Yunus Emre Institute London.
Professional photographers participating in the competition, which is now accepting applications for its tenth year, can submit their images that have shaped the global agenda. Applications can be made until 17th January 2024.
