Mansour Osanlou - In a press briefing held today in central London with members of the international press, Amir Hossein Jahanchahi, the Founder of Green Wave introduced the well known Iranian union leader, Mansour Osanlou, via Skype for his first interview with the media from a secret location, following his recent escape from Iran. Following an opening statement (broadcast live by Raha TV), Amir Hossein Jahachahi said, “To solidify ties with the labour unions and workers of Iran with the aim of advancing towards the necessary atmosphere for staging nation wide strikes leading ultimately to a nationaluprising, I have asked Mr. Mansour Osanlou, one of Iran’s best known and respected union leaders, who was imprisoned for no less than five years by the regime, to assume the role of “Coordinator for Union Relations and Operations’ inside Iran.” He said “With the support and backing of ‘Green Wave’, Mansour Osanlou has begun his important mission.”

In answers to questions at the press briefing, Mansour Osanlou said, “The conditions for change currently exist in Iran because there is a belief amongst people that they must do something.”
Osanlou expressed his gratitude for the international support given to him. “In all dictatorial states, the support of the international community gives heart to people that change can become a reality.”
Mansour Osanlou added, “In a country wherecivil society organizations are prevented from functioning, all complaints store up. They become a sea of water pushing against a small dam that will eventually burst. But it needs to be organized. It is only through organization when women, youth and workers arrive at a common demand, supported by the internationalcommunity, that change can happen.”
