Egypt's Sisi to visit Saudi Arabia Sunday

CAIRO (AA) – The visit will be al-Sisi's third after he visited Algeria and Equatorial Guinea in June. "The visit acquires a special importance due to the current regional developments and challenges," Abdel-Wahab was quoted as saying by Egypt's official MENA news agency. He went on to say that the current regional developments make it necessary for Egypt and Saudi Arabia to forge closer cooperation. Saudi King Abdullah paid a brief visit to Cairo on June 20. The oil-rich kingdom was among the first Arab countries to welcome last year's ouster of elected president Mohamed Morsi by the military. The oil-rich kingdom has also extended a financial lifeline to Egypt to shore up its economy.
