2013 Africa Cup of Nations

The Africa Cup of Nations 2013, which starts on 19th January in South Africa. In all, 12 group matches, four quarter finals, both semi finals, the third-place play-off and the final will be shown on the ITV channel - adding up to more free-to-air terrestrial coverage than ever before.

Matt Smith said: "I'm really excited this tournament is being given such extensive coverage by ITV4. Just look at the top players from English clubs who take part - that shows the cup is increasingly important in world football."

In addition to the screening of live games on ITV4, matches throughout the tournament will also be simulcast on itv.com.

Niall Sloane, ITV’s Director of Sport said: “The Africa Cup of Nations is a major football event with an ever-growing following in the UK. I’m delighted that we’ll be offering viewers more free-to-air live coverage then ever before throughout the tournament on ITV4.”
