ISTANBUL (AVRUPA TIMES)- The derby between Turkey’s top football clubs Galatasaray and Fenerbahce ended in a 0-0 draw at the Turk Telecom Arena in Istanbul Wednesday, giving Besiktas the chance to lead the table with five points. After 28 matches, Besiktas lead the Turkish Super Lig (Turkish for League) with 66 points, Fenerbahce came second with 61 points, while Galatasaray came in at number six with 41 points.
The Galatasaray-Fenerbahce derby got postponed on March 20, following security concerns in Istanbul. The Istanbul Governorate website at the time said the game had been postponed after "serious intelligence" about security concerns was received.
