England's Lampard retires from international duty

England midfielder Frank Lampard has retired from international football. The player, who joined Manchester City on loan from New York City in the summer, ended a 15-year career with England. The 36-year-old ex-Chelsea veteran said: "I have taken the decision to retire from international football. It has been a very tough decision for me to make which is why I have given it so much thought since the World Cup. "I have always been exceptionally proud and honored to represent my country and have to say looking back I have enjoyed every minute of wearing the England shirt."
Lampard won 106 caps for England and scored 29 goals.
