Small grants for big projects

Cllr Ayfer Orhan, cabinet member for children and young people, said, “Small grants ranging from £500 to £4,000 can give a real boost to organisations. 

“This funding is to help local groups who are planning activities for children outside school. Last year 35 groups were successful and were awarded grants for sports clubs, arts groups, supplementary schools, literacy and numeracy classes and cultural activities.

“I urge groups to apply for a grant which can be used towards the hire of premises; fees for tutors or coaches; volunteer expenses; and materials or resources to run the activities. It is an opportunity that can make a big difference to an exciting project.”

Applications open 14 January and close at 4pm on 15 February.
