Apply online, apply on time for your child's 2015 school place

The application system opens on 1 September for both primary and secondary schools. With all of Islington's secondary schools rated as good or outstanding by Ofsted, Islington schools are an excellent choice for parents. The deadline for applications for the secondary school September 2015 intake is 31 October 2014. All of the borough's secondary schools are holding open days and evenings for parents to go along and find out more about what each one of them offers. Cllr Joe Caluori, Islington Council's executive member for children and families said: "Choosing the right school for your child is a really important decision. We encourage parents to find about what's on offer at the schools by visiting them, talking to staff and reading our prospectus.

"Islington secondary schools are flourishing with students achieving great exam results and high quality teaching is preparing young people well for futures in higher education or employment.

"Competition for places is growing each year, so I'd urge parents not to delay in getting their applications in."

Islington primary schools are among the top ten best in the country as judged by Ofsted. The demand for school places is high, 90% of places are in good or outstanding schools – well above both the national and London averages. So parents are recommended to apply on time to help ensure their child’s place.

The deadline for applications for the reception September 2015 intake is 15 January 2015.
