Firstly, next Friday the RA will take inspiration from the colour and energy of South America and its mesmerising modern art with a special Latin Takeover, complete with music and dance from Brazilian Grammy Award winner Zeu Azevedo. Begin by enjoying a mojito in the courtyard as you soak up the Latin rhythm, then step inside to encounter extraordinary abstract work that breaks free of the canvas and invites interaction between art and viewer. Book now to be part of this one-off South American celebration. Then in October, we turn to 1960s America for inspiration as we host a night of retro cool in honour of Dennis Hopper: The Lost Album. Organised jointly with UAL, our Sixties Snapshot brings together photography, installations and performances to recapture the ambience so vividly documented in Hopper’s photos. Join us after dark as we bring to life an era when the status quo was being challenged like never before – a time of hippies, Hell’s Angels, civil rights activists and Hollywood stars.
