LJMU conducts new classical music experience for city and students

Classic FM, the Royal Liverpool Philharmonic’s media partner, is set to broadcast live from the University’s Redmonds Building, as part of the Liverpool International Music Festival on Friday 22nd August from 1pm to 5pm. Additionally, all new students who are interested in the University’s offerings through the Royal Liverpool Philharmonic partnership, will get a free copy of a new book by Classic FM Managing Director Darren Henley and Managing Editor Sam Jackson, EVERYTHING YOU NEED TO KNOW ABOUT CLASSICAL MUSIC, which provides essential information for the experienced music lover as well as an invaluable introduction to those who are developing an appreciation of the genre. Classic FM is the UK’s most popular classical music radio station, with 5.4 million people tuning in each week. Its Managing Director Darren Henley said:

Classic FM’s weekday afternoon presenter Jamie Crick will broadcast his radio programme live from the Redmonds Building, ahead of compering the Liverpool International Music Festival at Sefton Park. Jamie has presented events all over Britain, working with Classic FM’s partner orchestras and hosting many outdoor concerts at stately homes and castles. The Liverpool International Music Festival 2014 highlights the constantly evolving DNA of a global music city through expression, celebration and the new.
