British designer Arzu Kara exhibited at Pure London

British designer Arzu Kara will be exhibited at this year’s Pure London event took place between 14-16 February 2016.   Arzu’s presence at the event will coincide with the launch of her latest Autumn/Winter 2016 collection. In the latest collection, Arzu uses mink cashmere blend scrumptious fabrics; wool/viscose dresses, playing with different textures, combining fine fabric like silk chiffons with wool crepes and sequinned metal nets. The collection is all about the cut. With clever dart manipulations, waistlines are defined and the tummy area is concealed, resulting in perfect silhouettes. The collection is for women who are looking for effortless glamour with easy to wear pieces.

"I am thrilled that I can showcase my designs at Pure London in 2016," said Creative Director Arzu Kara. "2016 marks my tenth collection and I am showcasing some distinct styles that celebrate the female form and allow women to feel comfortable in the designs."

During Pure London, the Arzu Kara stand number can be located at N24 and the Premium Women's Wear collection will be showcased. Arzu Kara launched her fashion label (Arzu Kara Designs) in 2006 and her company is based in Henley on Thames.  Her clientele now numbers over 500, including top model Anastasija Bogatirjova, Chloe-Jasmine Whichello and Fashion muse Olivia Harrison, who come back time and time again for the unique Arzu Kara ‘look’ that they adore.  Arzu Kara Designs can be found in a number of boutiques in the UK, USA, online. Also undertakes bespoke commissions for haute couture garments.

Her first employment was as a designer in Istanbul and she then returned to the UK to work as a Design Assistant for Aluma.  Shortly after this, she jumped at the chance to work with the designer Bora Aksu. During her time with Aksu, she widened her creative vision and started to focus on the wear-ability of her designs.

Arzu has a long history of fashion design. Originally from Istanbul, where she trained in garment construction, she then studied at St. Martin’s and went on to graduate with an Honour’s degree in Fashion Textiles from Thames Valley University.

She uses her pattern cutting expertise in manipulating darts, using pleats and gathers in a way that accentuates women's best assets. Luxury fabrics are key to her design style resulting in pieces that are comfortable and easy to wear.

Arzu’s philosophy is to create what women want.  As Women we are often insecure about our bodies, and Arzu Kara designs aim to provide women with body confidence and still look stylish.
