A legendary day for our country! We proudly congratulate our girls Aslı Çakır Alptekin and Gamze Bulut, who got the gold and the silver medals by racing the 1500 meters Final at 2012 London Olympics. National athlete Aslı Çakır Alptekin got the gold medal while Fenerbahçe Sports Club's national athlete Gamze Bulut were having the silver medal at 1500 meters Final race of 2012 London Olympics
Aslı Çakır Alptekin had the degree of 4:10.23' and became as the champion of the Women 1500 meters race. At the same final Gamze Bulut had the degree of 4:10.40 and she completed the race as the second athlete.
Today, both Aslı Çakır Alptekin and Gamze Bulut had a victory for Turkish sports history in which Turkey got "two medals" at the same branch of Olympics.
After the race Fenerbahçe's National Athlete Gamze Bulut gave an interview and the first thing she said was: "I appreciate our President Aziz Yıldırım' for his great support that he always gave for us for the sporters, I thank him so much"
For the first time our National Anthem will be listened at an Olympic Stadium and also for the first time there will be two Turkish Flags next to each other at the Top while one of them is going to be higher.
