The UN Security Council will not act on Syria without informing or consulting Turkey, said Turkish Foreign Minister Ahmet Davutoglu on Tuesday.
Referring to a meeting he attended with the US, UK, and French foreign ministers in Paris on Monday to discuss Syria as the "P3 and 1 meeting", Davutoglu said every nation was aware of Turkey's strategic position and Turkey would not be left alone in any decision making process.
Emphasizing that Turkey is the only NATO member neighbouring Syria, Davutoglu said, "the P3+1 meeting is important because without informing and consulting us, there cannot be any preparation for any actions or decision for UN Security Council resolution."
Davutoglu also criticized Western media for accusing Turkey of crying out for war against Syria.
He noted that a meeting with the "Friends of Syria" group would be held during his New York visit.
The Turkish FM said his French and British counterparts gave Turkey full support for shooting down the Syrian helicopter which violated Turkish airspace, adding there had been no reaction from Russia or the US thus far.
Davutoglu said, he also planned to hold a phone conversation with US Secretary of State John Kerry to extend his condolence for the US Navy yard shooting and to consult on this issue with him.
The UN report has indicated the collected samples provided "clear and convincing evidence that surface-to-air rockets containing the nerve agent Sarin were used in the Ghouta area of Damascus," said Davutoglu and added that the opposition do not have the capacity to launch a surface-to-air rockets.
Davutoglu said, Turkish intelligence had already determined the use of chemical weapon and the locations where the rockets were launched, added, "UN's confirmation is important, it means there is no doubt left."
