Oscar winner to lead the jury of Sarajevo Film Festival

Sarajevo Film Festival jury will decide on the best short film, documentary and the best candidate to be nominated for the European Film Academy Award.

The Oscar winner from Bosnia Danis Tanovic will head the jury of the 19th Sarajevo Film Festival (SFF) which will start on August 16.

In the jury, there will also be Ulysses Fehmiu - actor from Serbia, Christine A. Maier - director of photography from Germany, Charles Tesson - Artistic Director of Critic's Week at Cannes Film Festival and Mirela Oprisor - actress from Romania.

The jury for the short film will be Paz Lazaro - manager of Panorama Film Festival in Berlin, Miljanovic - an artist from Bosnia and Paul Negoescu - director from Romania.

Joslyn Barnes, Jasmin Basic and Vibeke Bryld will decide on the best documentary, and Hagar Ben-Asher, Miguel Dias and Leon Paraminski on nomination of candidates for the European Film Academy Award 2013.

For nine consecutive years the Heart of Sarajevo prizes are awarded in all competitive categories.

Sarajevo Film Festival is an annual international movie festival which has been held in Sarajevo since 1995. It hosts talents and films from around the world with a focus on South-Eastern Europe.

Tanovic, who is known as a director and writer of the Bosnian movie No Man's Land which brought him Academy Award for Best Foreign Language Movie, was also a member of the jury at the 2003 Cannes Film Festival.
