Federation Of Turkish Associations and Azerbaijan House Condemn Armenian Aggression

The Federation Of Turkish Associations – UK & Azerbaijan House (London) Condemns Armenian Aggression against Azerbaijan

"We strongly condemn the recent Armenian aggression towards Azerbaijani civilians by Armenia which continues to illegally occupy the Nagorno-Karabakh region of Azerbaijan including several surrounding towns.

On 2nd April 2016 Armenia started shelling Azerbaijani villages near the Karabakh conflict zone, attacking and killing Azerbaijani military personnel as well as civilians with the use of mortars and large-caliber machine guns and artillery.

Several United Nations Security Council resolutions have been passed, in addition to U.N. General Assembly resolution 62/243 (2008), which condemn the use of force against Azerbaijan and the occupation of its territories, and reaffirm the sovereignty and territorial integrity of Azerbaijan and the inviolability of its internationally recognized borders. In those resolutions, the United Nations reaffirmed that the Nagorno-Karabakh region is an inalienable part of Azerbaijan and demanded immediate, complete and unconditional withdrawal of the occupying forces from all occupied territories of Azerbaijan.

These frequent breaches of the agreed ceasefire by indiscriminate shelling of the surrounding civilian villages, killing innocent men, women and children by Armenia is totally unacceptable and it must stop immediately. Occupied Azerbaijani territories should be returned to Azerbaijan unconditionally as requested by the United Nations resolutions.

We call upon the international community to stand together with Azerbaijan against the occupation of Azerbaijani territory and the use of violence by Armenia which results in the death of innocent civilians."
