Turkey will be ending its gold trade with Iran, a trade that has received much criticism from the US in the past, During a press conference, Turkey’s deputy prime minister Ali Babacan told reporters ‘There will not be any gold trade with Iran in the upcoming term. If there is it will be very minimal.’ On 1 July, the US made it illegal for the state or its firms to sell gold to Iran.
