China will launch a probe called Chang’e-3 to send Jade Rabbit (Yutu), an unmanned lunar rover to moon on Monday, China’s Xinhua agency reports.

The Chinese probe will start its journey from Xichang Satellite Launch Center in southwest China at 01:30 local time.

Yutu is expected to be landing on the moon surface in mid-December for a reconnaissance mission to map the whole of the celestial body.

The 140 kg Yutu is the first ever Chinese probe to land on the world’s satellite.
