The Centre for Turkey Studies is organised a westminster forum with Mrs Binnaz Toprak MP of main opposition party, CHP in Turkey. Toprak will be in London as a guest of Centre for Turkey Studies to speak at various meetings. Emma Reynolds MP and shadow Europe Minister has kindly agreed to host a public meeting in committee room 15 on Monday 15th of October between 19;00 and 21;00.
Mrs Toprak will discuss Turkey's democratisation process amidst domestic challenges and regional upheavals. She will concentrate on Religion, Society and Politics in a Changing Turkey. The plans to change the Turkish Constitution, Turkey's process of democratization and political reform been high on the political agenda, this is a crucial time for Turkey and its friends in the UK to examine both the progress Turkey has made in recent years and challenges it still faces in its ambition to strengthen democracy and political reform.
