Authorities said Wednesday they had detected bird flu in the Lochem province of Gelderland state, Holland. The bird flu encountered in chickens was most probably H7 and around 85 thousand chickens are to be destroyed, according to a statement made by the Dutch Ministry of Economy. Poultry, eggs and poultry manure within a one kilometer radius were prohibited from transporting and farms nearby are also to be checked, according to the statement.
