Are you curious about trees? Then why not join nature and wildlife expert Andy Hawksworth on a free guided walk around Trent Park on Sunday 5 June which will take you through a tour of the varied tree specimens that grow in the area.

Starting at 10am by the café, (Cockfosters Road entrance), you can learn more about the wildlife that live in our trees, how man has used trees over the centuries to provide shelter and tools and how to identify the common varieties which are found in our gardens and parklands.

There will also be information about some of the more unusual trees you might find, as well as some foreign invaders which have taken over our shores.

The walk has been organised by Black Rainbow Events and has been funded by Berkeley Homes.

Alan Mitellas, The Director of Black Rainbow Events, said: “We all take trees for granted as we see them every day, but we often forget how important they are. As well as providing oxygen, controlling pollution and preventing flooding they provide a home for millions of animals and birds.

“Join us in June to find out more about trees, it’s all free, just turn up and have a wonderful day.”
