Turkey and Cyprus – Holiday Weight Gain

Apparently, according to Thomas Cook, holiday goers are most likely to gain weight in Cyprus and Turkey, with Cyprus coming 1^st and Turkey coming 2^nd. This is a fascinating discovery to know and gets you thinking why these two destinations come on top.

Cyprus and Turkey even beat Italy, USA, France and Australia to the top! How crazy is that? I just want a psychologist to come along and say why Turkey and Cyprus are in the lead! I’ll voice my own psychological analysis though!

With the yummy Mediterranean cuisine, these places offer, and being known for their amazing kebabs, maybe it’s no surprise that Cyprus and Turkey top the table. Travelling to these locations and holidaying there is known to be cheap and well priced. After cheap travel, there is more money and more money for food. Food is often included in package holidays and if not included, purchasing food is still not a headache for the wallet. There are so many wonderful restaurants and places to go, eating out frequently becomes a habit. On top of that there are many buffets in sight – one could eat all day long for a very cheap price. No wonder we cannot stop eating there!

Food is not just to blame for piling on the pounds, some fault has to lie with the alcohol. As we know, Turkey and Cyprus are known for their fun and party atmospheres and this usually includes holiday goers relaxing with a drink or many drinks!

All in all though, Cyprus and Turkey are fabulous places to holiday, there is so much to offer and that’s not just alcohol and food.
