Football, Sports, and Keep Fit

Congratulations to Jem Karacan, football player for Reading, who got called up to be in Turkey's football squad for their world cup qualifying match last week. Unfortunately Turkey lost 1 - 3 and Jem, who was a substitute, did not get to go on the pitch. The next world cup qualifier for Turkey is in March, here's hoping that Jem makes his international debut.

Incase you did not know, Jem is from south east London and has a Turkish dad and an English mum. He plays centre midfield. Another fact is that he played for the Turkish youth team and also captained the under 21s. Sorry if you knew all this but I know some of you, like myself, don't follow football! As a side note, he's a very good looking guy.

Jem has been playing football from a very young age and is very dedicated. I think Jem is a really great role model for people who want to get fitter and for those who enjoy sport. I've noticed many of us seem to be really into the gym at the moment. I think it's cool that people are into looking after themselves. I think it's even cooler when people are not only into the gym but are also into jogging and going to their keep fit classes. With so many classes to choose from, I think there must be something for everyone. It makes an impression on me too when I hear someone is into playing a sport whether that be playing for a Saturday football team or playing golf. Sports are not just about keeping fit but they're also about problem solving, competition, team work, increasing self esteem etc. If you're not involved already in sports, gym, and keeping fit classes then why not give them a go? You will lead a healthier and more fulfilling lifestyle.
