Bin Fines are Rubbish

So pleased to hear that councils will eventually be scrapping fines for putting out rubbish incorrectly. Fines were apparently being dished out to those who put their rubbish out on the wrong days; those who have bins overflowed; and those who put rubbish in the wrong bins. — am I missing something?

The fines that they were being issued out before were enough to make people even scared to put out their rubbish out in case they made a mistake. I’m talking about fines of up to £1000; let’s just say I hope the money attained was being put to good use! It just seemed like it was a money making scheme! Shouldn’t they just be pleased that rubbish is being put out for collection anyway? And doesn’t an overfilled bin actually show keenness on wanting to recycle? Joke!

I think if people were breaking the rules of putting their rubbish out incorrectly, they were probably unaware of what the rules were! I can’t remember any rule book being given out anyway! I think the whole aim for people putting the rubbish out was exactly that, putting the rubbish out!

However on a serious note, glad to hear that fines will be kept for those purposely causing a nuisance. Can’t stand people who leave their rubbish abandoned on the streets; those who pollute and destroy rivers and beautiful countryside and the like — how hard is it just to find a bin to put it in? I admit, sometimes I think there should be more bins provided on our streets and elsewhere. There’s no excuse though for people purposely making hazards with rubbish. It also shows no respect to purposely dump rubbish incorrectly. If the council are unable to provide more bins, perhaps someone in the Big Society could create more waste facilities!

We should all be caring about our communities and elsewhere; no one likes a polluted and unkempt world. Hopefully the scrapping of fines will encourage more people to hoard less, throw out their takeaways from the night before, and recycle more — I think the fines were probably frightening many people who were scared of doing it wrong. People should be more encouraged by their morality to put the rubbish out correctly. We should all work together to make a beautiful, caring and greener world, so let’s do it!
