The Body Beautiful

Having walked down the stairs and into the main workout area something or rather someone catches my eye. Mesmerised, stunned and in awe of what I see don’t notice the wall and walk into it. People notice and laugh. I try to regain my composure and attempt to carry on in the direction of the changing room but now looking over my shoulder.  Whilst I continue to stare at this beautiful blond man with cherub curls, rosy cheeks and the body of a god I stumble into the changing room door as well. Once inside the changing room and quickly in my training gear I rush back out to get another look before he is gone. He is still there. Training, muscles bulging, sweating away...he looks up and smiles at me to let me know that he is aware he has a fan.

Finally on the cross trainer and trying to organise my thoughts into a PG format I look around me and notice that incredibly there are more of them around. I turn my head left and right and in every direction is another beautiful body. Will I be telling you which gym that is? NO! No need to create any more competition as it is also filled with other incredibly good looking ladies as well!

After my work out during which most the sweating wasn't even from the exertion of the exercise I head to the changing rooms, once in my bikini (which I shall admit is probably more Rio beach than gym pool kind) I head to the sauna to relax. Inside there is more beautiful bodies. It is Saturday evening and the realisation dawns on me. The age old question all women have been asking ‘Where are all the fit hot men?’ Well, it seems they are being healthy and working out whilst we have been out drinking and eating.

I lean back and try to relax in the heat of the sauna which is incredibly hot that day, or maybe it’s me, I can’t tell. The door opens and in walks another stunning beautiful body. He walks in and smiles. I smile back and so he says ‘hi’. As we chat he tells me that he is a personal trainer. This of course gets a round of 100 questions from me regarding fitness and having the ultimate body. For months I have been on a gruesome diet and finally, since I am now seeing results, I am able to admit it. I tell him that ultimately it’s not the slim size 8 body I am after but a toned and fit one. He tells me this is achievable with the right diet and commitment to exercise. This is something that I am willing to do. In the excitement I stand up and hit my head on the ceiling of the sauna (seriously hot men are hazardous to my health) to show him my body and point out the problem areas. He looks closely at the areas I point out and asks me to turn around and bend over a little. He grabs my flesh and tells me that he has a good starting point and he can work on my body, or did he say with my body? I can’t remember the details...He promises me that with the commitment by Christmas I can have the ultimate body. This is music to my ears! A brand new body by Christmas? This man just pushed everyone else of the chart and just became the most important man in my life at the moment.

A couple of days later we meet and he puts me through some fitness tests to see where I am at. After getting me all hot, sweaty and in a lot of compromising stretching positions and making me scream with pain in the gym; he tells me that ‘Excellent flexibility but stamina and strength is a disaster!’ This is news to me as I though with all my walking and running around I would have the strength but this is apparently not so. He tells me that if you want a beautiful body then you have to work hard, you have to dedicate time and effort to achieve it. What you need is to feel the pain because without that pain how can you know that you are trying your hardest? I look worried for a moment but he reassures me that ‘I can see it in your eyes, you like the pain, we will be just fine!’ So I set forth in an attempt to hopefully be a part of the body beautiful population by Christmas. How appropriate that this man should be called Chris...Maybe its destiny that I should be fit.
