Ashti Hawrami made the announcement that northern Iraq and Turkey have agreed on a petrol deal during a statement made on his visit to Manchester, UK. He said that the autonomous Kurdish region will be able to supply Turkey with a million barrels of petrol by 2015, and two million by 2019, while also saying that northern Iraq will become an energy hub for the world in the future. Additionally he claimed that giving northern Iraq the right to produce energy freely and independently would be the only way to preserve the unity of Iraq.

Natural Reserves Minister of the autonomous Kurdish region of northern Iraq Ashti Hawrami has announced that they will be sending petrol to Turkey before the new year.
