Meet Pegasus Airlines at WTM

Leading low-cost airline Pegasus is exhibiting at London’s WTM between 6 and 8 November as a partner on Turkey Stand EU1000-EU1050, marking a year that saw the airline transform travel in the region and continue to grow its passenger numbers, routes and flights despite challenging times.

Pegasus at World Travel Market

Pegasus Airlines is organising a raffle at WTM 2017 giving a lucky visitor the chance to win one of two flights on any route on its wide-reaching network with many exciting off-the-beaten-track destinations available including Abu Dhabi, Almaty, Beirut, Dubai, North Cyprus, Tbilisi, Tel Aviv and Tehran as well as more than 30 Turkish destinations including Bodrum, Izmir and Istanbul. Visit the stand to drop your business card before the end of the fair, at which time the winner will be drawn.

Pegasus' Sales Director Emre Pekesen will also be available on 6 and 7 November for media interviews.

Transforming Travel: Pegasus News & 2017 Highlights

  • Founded with the mission that everyone has the right to fly and having launched its scheduled services in 2005, Pegasus Airlines is now, in just over a decade, Turkey’s leading low-cost airline and one of the region’s frontrunners with a growing network of 109 destinations, including 37 in Turkey and 72 other international destinations in 40 countries across Europe, Russia and the Caucasus, the Middle East, North Africa and Asia.
  • Continuing to expand this year with six new international destinations and 13 new domestic destinations launched already in 2017, including Sinop from Sabiha Gokcen, Batman from Izmir, 4 new routes in Russia (now 7 in total): Samara, Volgograd, Nizhny Novgorod, Grozny and Abu Dhabi in June (12th Middle East destination)
  • Pegasus is still Turkey's fastest growing airline in terms of passenger numbers, having carried 12.6 million guests in the first half of this year, growing 12.5% year-on-year and on course for 11-13% year-on-year growth in guest traffic for 2017.  Load factors are also up 5.9% year on year in the first half of 2017, together with capacity growth of 4.5%
  • The UK is a key market for Pegasus.  Flights from Stansted launched in March 2007 with more than 1.5 million guests flown so far on this route.  Pegasus guests can enjoy a network of over 65 destinations including twice-a-day services to Istanbul and direct and connecting flights to destinations such as Izmir, Antalya and Bodrum in Turkey and Dubai, Abu Dhabi, Beirut, Tehran, Tbilisi and Tel Aviv ranking as some of the most popular routes from London.
  • Recently launched its second hub in Turkey in Ankara as a strategy for growth, with an array of domestic routes and its first direct international destination launched in July to Odessa
  • Fleet of the Future: Pegasus already has the youngest fleet in Turkey and one of the youngest in Europe comprising 77 aircraft with an average age of 5.80 years.  With the new Airbus Neo deliveries - including having increased the number of new A320 Neo purchases planned for 2017 from 3 to 6 - the average age will fall even further to improve the customer experience, drive efficiencies and reduce the environmental impact across the board – a vital part of the airline’s strategy to transform travel in the region
  • Pegasus has earned a place in the top 10 Global Airline Rankings for Ancillary Revenue as a Percentage of Total Revenue with its ancillary revenue for 2016 comprising 22% of total revenue, marking a significant increase from 10.1% five years ago.
  • Looking ahead to 2018: Pegasus will continue to expand its flight network, welcome an increasing number of guests and offer low fares, brand new aircraft and a wide range of ancillary products and services as it transforms travel in the region and focuses on providing a full and personalized travel service beyond flights from car hire and transfers to hotels and inspiration for places to visit all available online or via its mobile app.
