SPORTS

Turkish club Besiktas has defeated Netherlands' Feyenoord 3-1 in the second leg of the UEFA Champions League Third qualifying round and qualified for the playoff round 5-2 on aggregate. Besiktas' new arrival Demba Ba, who was assisted by his teammate Mustafa Pektemek dribbling the ball tens of meters, scored the first goal for his team in the 28th minute, at the Ataturk Olympic Stadium in Istanbul on Wednesday. In the second half, Dutch side Feyenoord took some risks and, in the 73rd minute, Rotterdam team Feyenoord equalized with a goal from Dutch winger Elvis Manu. Besiktas managed to take the lead once again with Senegalese forward Demba Ba tapping the ball into the net in the 80th minute. Besiktas' Turkish midfielder Olcay Sahan dribbled towards the byline and passed to Ba, allowing the Senegalese international to finish easily, making the score 2-1. Feyenoord could not withstand the pressure, and the unstoppable Besiktas increased the gap when Ba scored in the 86th minute. Demba Ba had made use of the Feyenoord defender's mistake, and the red hot Senegalese star dribbled into the box after snapping it and made his hat-trick with a calm finish, 3-1. Having won the first leg 2-1 in Rotterdam last week,Besiktas - aka the "Black Eagles" - knocked Feyenoord out of the tournament with the victory.
