Argentinian veteran forward inks 1-year contract with Italian club after playing 2 seasons in China

Italy's Olimpia Milano on Sunday signed a one-year contract with Argentinian basketball player Luis Scola. The 39-year-old veteran player joined Olimpia Milano after spending two seasons in China, said the Italian team on their website. The Argentinian forward previously played for several European and NBA clubs during his career. 

Scola played for Cabitel Gijon and Saski Baskonia in Spain, playing in three consecutive EuroLeague Final Fours with Saski Baskonia in 2005-2007. 

He was chosen for two All-EuroLeague First Team in 2006 and 2007.

During his NBA career, Scola played for the Houston Rockets, Phoenix Suns, Indiana Pacers, Toronto Raptors, and Brooklyn Nets between 2007 and 2017.

In 743 NBA games, he averaged 12 points and 6.7 rebounds.

Scola helped win the gold medal with the Argentina national team at the 2004 Athens Olympic Games. 

He also shone at the 2019 FIBA Basketball World Cup despite being the oldest player, 39, in the tournament .

Scola helped his national team earn the silver medal, netting 17.9 points and 8.1 rebounds.

He was selected to the All-Star Five of the tournament for his outstanding performance.
